Blending vocal performance and modern dance, The Final Veil explores the remarkable true story of Franceska Mann, a Polish-Jewish dancer who demonstrated resistance and strength with a single act of courage amid the horrors of the Holocaust. Performed in three movements, this new piece conceived by JL Marlor and Cassandra Rosebeetle chronicles Franceska's journey from the Warsaw Ghetto, to the freight cars of Bergen-Belsen, and ending in her final heroic act at the gates of Auschwitz: an act that would solidify her legendary status. The Final Veil will premiere at Nancy Manocherian’s the cell theatre (Artistic Director, Kira Simring) in July of 2022.
