Puerto Rico En Canción - Laura Virella & Nathaniel LaNasa

Puerto Rico celebrates its first Olympic gold medal almost 148 years after its Grito de Lares revolution on September 23, 1868. La Borinqueña is heard for the first time around the globe. Come discover the island nation's rich classical music heritage through an evening of art song.

Mezzo-soprano Laura Virella and pianist Nathaniel LaNasa present music by Ernesto Cordero, Jack Délano, Narciso Figueroa and Noel Allende Goitía, with texts by the great ones of Puerto Rican literature, including José de Diego, Tomás Blanco and Juan Antonio Corretjer.

Proceeds of this recital will go to fund the release of the Puerto Rican Art Song Project CD.
