Vocalist, pianist and composer, Mala Waldron is a native of New York. Her musical approach reflects the varied styles of music she was exposed to as a youngster including jazz, soul, calypso and classical. She’s the daughter of renown jazz pianist/composer Mal Waldron and credits both parents (her mother, Elaine, being a fine jazz pianist and vocalist) with giving her a solid and varied foundation in jazz.
Mala has enjoyed performing for audiences all over the world including, France, Italy, Japan, China and Russia.
Her recorded works include, “He's My Father,” a duo project with her father and “Lullabye,” her debut CD as a leader & tribute to Godmother, Billie Holiday. Waldron’s first U.S. release, “Always There,” was voted one of Jazz USA's Top CDs of the year.
Her latest CD, “Deep Resonance,” was launched with a CD Release Party at NYC's Club Bonafide and is already receiving wonderful early reviews.
