Recently voted "Rising Star" keyboardist in Downbeat’s 62nd annual Critic’s Poll in 2014, pianist, keyboardist and composer, Marc Cary has become known as one of the best and most original jazz pianists in New York. He is a graduate of the rigorous bandstand academy long run by late vocalist Betty Carter, as well as a 12 years tenure accompanying Abbey Lincoln, and he plays with the big ears and vivid improvisational imagination that she required. As we enter into 2015, Marc Cary embarks upon celebrating 20 years as a lead recording artist as well as 10 years with indie jazz sensation Motema Music.
This 3 night residency will celebrate a long and diverse recording career, anchored by Focus Trio and joined by some very special friends.
